I have been making these rugs for several years now. I have taught this process and technique to hundreds of people over the years, through workshops, retreats, virtual learning and private bookings taking my skills to individual farms and community networks across the country. It is so satisfying to see many go on to diversify their farm and set up their own wild wool rug business with great success, staring on tv shows and making appearances at national agricultural fares with their handmade rugs which started life in a barn and a day spent with me and my flock or buying my online tutorial and learning in the comfort of their own home. They have now become very popular in their creation and go by various names like; "Living rugs" 'Felted sheepskins", "Vegetarian sheepskins”, “Ecorug" and many more..
No matter their name, the essence is the same. To create beautiful Wild Wool rugs that make use of our wonderful wool, the most incredible fibre on the planet! Also supporting our flock to keep them grazing happily in the fields and meadows, where they will grow more wool for the next years harvest.
My sheep have such amazing characters and that wild, gentle, free spirit comes with everything I make by hand, with, love into your home and hearth!
The workshops are not just about making a wool rug. When you come on my courses it's about deep connection to the source, the fibre and the community we create in that space. Learn all about wool and it's history, while learning an ancient technique to make these beautiful rugs which are very much still "LIVING" in character.
